Mothers Day Card

People tell me all the time that I am incredibly creative. But I'm not. Really, I just know what I like when I see it. When I want to make something I search "the net" and find some inspiration.  Here's a little insight into how I come up with a card idea.

For Mother's Day, I knew I wanted to make my mother a card using the colors Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral, with the Butterfly Basics stamp set. I wanted a big gold butterfly and lots of BLING!  So I started searching and here's where I got my inspiration

I CASE'd this card from Becky Robert's Website  I made a few very minor changes and used the sample for a Stamp A Stack class. I loved the floating butterfly however I knew for my mom's card it would have to be gold foil because my mom loves her BLING!

For the color combo, I had seen a sheet of colors I liked at Peonies and Paper Chains
I had to play around a bit. The first stamped piece I completed I decided I didn't like the color combo. The Cajun Crazy was to dark and the Tangerine Tango was just thrown in there. I decided to go with 3 colors instead of 5

Then I played with the colors on the butterfly Finally, I put all the elements I liked together

and  drum roll please....... Here's the finished product

I used a sponge dauber to rub some Calypso Coral ink onto the embossed piece of paper, added some pearls for extra BLING and then I gave it to my mom. Two months later and she still has it displayed on her kitchen counter so I guess she liked it.
