Stampin' Up Beautiful Day Sketch Challenge

Inspire.Create.Challenges #014 | Sketch Challenge

While looking for some inspiration, I stumbled onto this challenge on  Inspire. Create. Stamping Challenges. blog. I love challenges because they help me try new ideas and techniques. As soon as I saw this sketch, I just knew a butterfly would replace the heart. I have been playing around with the Beautiful Day stamp set and love the big butterfly.
I had been experimenting with the Springtime Foils Speciality Designer Paper(DSP)  and had a lot of it on my work table in different colors. This paper is so versatile. You can color the images or brayer ink onto the paper to create a different look But it is only available until March 31, 2018, because it is a free with  $50 purchase item as part of the Sale-A-Bration 2018.I knew I wanted to use the foil paper so I choose to use some of the colors I had tried out. I rolled the ink onto the Springtime Foils with a brayer and then wiped the excess of with a tissue because the ink does not soak into the foil only the paper.

I cut a strip of the paper I had inked with Sweet Sugarplum Classic Stampin' Ink and put it across the top and put the sentiment on top of it.

I embossed the butterfly with copper embossing powder and colored it with Stampin' Blends Alcohol Ink markers and then I fussy cut it.

The raised edge of the embossing makes it very easy to color and the colors really pop out.
I always use glue dots to adhere a butterfly so the wings are free to fly. I put two glue dots on the backside in the middle of the abdomen.
When I adhere it this way it gives the impression that the butterfly has just landed and is free to fly away.

Stampin' Up! Springtime Foils for FMS 330

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge 330

It's time for a new challenge over at  Freshly Made Sketches. I love the way the sketch has the sentiment tucked under the paper. It's not something I do very often but really need to start doing it on more of my cards.

For this challenge, I really wanted to use the gorgeous Springtime Foil Speciality Designer Series paper (DSP)   It was part of the second release of Sale-A-Bration 2018 so I didn't get it in time to use at my March classes and I really wanted everyone to see the beauty and versatility of this paper.
There are four different designs and you get three sheets of each. The copper and gold foil really make it shine. I love the way it can be colored. You can use markers, watercolors or brayer ink on the sheets.
I used the Stampin' Blends Alcohol ink markers to color several of the images and then I fussy cut them out. I used dimensionals to pop the largest of the flowers up.
I used one of the embossing folders from the  Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folders to emboss the strip of So Saffron cardstock.
I decided to use the Ticket Tear Border Punch to make a strip with the Copper Foil Speciality Paper.

For the sentiment, I used Old Olive Classic Stampin' Ink and I used the framelits to cut it. I stamped my sentiment toward the bottom of the paper so I didn't have to cut a whole square. No reason to waste cardstock when only a bit of it would be showing.

Thank You for Stopping by

Stampin' Up! Moon Baby

Moon Baby for The Try Stampin' On Tuesday  Challenge 360

I recently discovered the Try Stampin' On Tuesday blog. Challenge 360 is a sketch challenge and the first one I have done with them. Here is the sketch they provided.

Easter was the theme but It was optional. Since I was going to a baby shower I decided to use Moon Baby and skip the Easter theme.
I have used this stamp set quite a bit but I always used the baby on the moon. Instead of that, I decided to use the baby with the umbrella for a change.
Since the parents have already announced that they are having a boy I went with several shades of blue. I used the Stampin' Up! Blends alcohol markers to color the baby.
I stamped the umbrella twice and fussy cut one of them so I could layer them. I like the way it gives the card a little dimension
.
I used a piece of the shimmery ribbon that was part of the Sale-A-Bration 2018 freebies ( with $50 USD purchase before tax and shipping) because I wanted to give it just a little extra pop of color.
For the inside, I stamped some cute little-stuffed animals and colored them with the Stampin' Blends and put a little Wink of Stella on them.
