Stampin' Up! Sweeet Talk

I knew as soon as I saw this sketch challenge at The Paper Players that I would be using the Sweet Talk Designer Series Paper because it has been sitting on my craft table calling to me. I love the playful patterns and it uses some of my favorite colors, Green Apple Green, Highland Heather, and Pool Party.

Card Base is 81/2 by 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
DSP:4 by 2 3/4  ( 2 pieces different patterns)

Stampin' Up! Seas The Day

 Sketch Challenge

It's a sketch challenge this week at Freshly Made Sketches. My first idea when  I saw the sketch was to die cut a rectangle and stamp something on it. But after thinking about it I decided to try something different. It's been a while since I used the block stamping technique but I thought it would work well with this challenge

When you block stamp you use your acrylic stamping block like a stamp and you use markers or an ink pad to lay the color right onto the block. I used my Many Marvelous Markers to create a scene that looks like an ocean floor. I swiped each of the colors on the clear block (C) with the side of the marker's brush tip. Then I blew on it. This is called huffing and it helps to keep the ink wet. I stamped the block directly on the basic white cardstock and held it for a few seconds so the ink would transfer. I used Sahara Sand for the sand and Coastal Cabana and Pool Party for the water. I stamped the air bubbles with Misty Moonlight. After it dried I stamped the other images on top of it.

I used the Stitched with Whimsy dies to create a stitched border on my basic white panel.  I used the Thank You sentiment from the Seascape Stamp Set. I used some dimensionals to adhere my panel to the card base.

SALE-A-Bration is the most wonderful time of the year for stampers because all the products we are showcasing are FREE with a qualifying purchase. These exclusive products are only available for a limited time so if you see something you like be sure to contact your demonstrator ASAP!

For my card, I am using the Friendly Hello Stamp Set and the coordinating Designer Series Paper(DSP). This paper is beautiful and I love the colors they are so fresh and bright.

I love a good fun fold card and this is Z-fold super easy one.  You start with a piece of 11 by 4 1/4 inch cardstock, score it at 5 1/2, and use a bone folder so your score line is nice and smooth. Then you fold back the front of the card to the scoreline and use the bone folder to smooth out the new scoreline.

I used the scalloped Contours dies to cut the 2 frames and after they were stamped and decorated I adhered them to the flap on the front of the card. It's important to remember to only put adhesive on one side of the mats because the right side must be left free so the card will open.

I love this little bird. I used the Stampin' Blends alcohol ink markers to color it before I fussy cut it. I popped the sentiment mat and the bird up with dimensionals.

Please contact your Stampin! Up! demonstrator if you have any questions or to make a product purchase. I would be happy to answer any questions about products or the techniques shown here. Stampin' Up! Friendly Hello

Time for a Sketch Challenge

I love a good sketch challenge. This one from Freshly Made Sketches looked simple but was a little more challenging than I expected.

I started with a stitched circle but it seemed too plain so I add a circle underneath that looks like a wreath to me, and it seemed perfect with the birds I wanted to use.

I stamped the bird with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then I colored it with Stampin' Up! Blends alcohol ink markers.
