Stampin' Up! Retiring Products Blog Hop

Stampin' Up! Retiring Products Blog Hop

Oh, how I love to see the new Stampin' Up! In -colors and all the new goodies when the new catalog arrives, but it is always so hard to say goodbye to the products that are retiring. This year Stampin' Up! is doing a color revamp so there are  13 colors from our core color collection and 4 In-colors from the 2016-2018 collections that are retiring,

So I bid A fond farewell to ...

My first card uses my favorite retiring color, Chocolate Chip, and a stamp set that I ordered the week before the retirement list came out. I love this set and I ordered it because my daughter is newly engaged so I know I'll be getting a lot of use out of it.

I used Chocolate Chip cardstock for the card base and Pink Pirouette cardstock for the top layer. I used the small heart stamp and Pink Pirouette Classic Stampin' Ink to stamp a background. Both of these colors are retiring so get them now before they are going or if you have them already make sure you order the ink refill.

I stamped the wood image on crumb cake with Chocolate Chip Classic Stampin' Ink. Just typing that makes me hungry. Those colors sound so yummy. I also stamped a set of the leaves on Pear Pizazz and fussy cut them. I stamped the heart center on the Pink Pirouette and fussy cut that also. The heart has a dimensional under it

For the inside, I used Crumb Cake cardstock and stamped with the Chocolate Chip Classic Stampin' Ink. The lace I used retired a few years ago, but I thought it was perfect for this card.

Goodbye Numbers Framelits

Out of all the items on the retirement list, the one I am going to miss the most is the numbers framelits. I use them all the time for birthday cards, graduation cards, and scrapbook pages.

For this card, I die cut the numbers out of the Painted with Love Speciality Designer Series Paper(DSP)  and I used coordinating cardstock for the base and layers. I love the way Stampin' Up! list the colors that coordinate with the DSP on the back of the DSP package and in the catalog under the paper description. They make it so easy to make a beautifully coordinated card.
If you would like to make either of my cards, there is a supply list at the bottom of this post after the list of bloggers

This is a global blog hop with 50 stampers from around the world. I hope you enjoy visiting all their blogs. Thank You for visiting my blog. I am honored to have been included in a hop with so many talented stampers.

Stampin' Up! More Than Chocolate

Stampin' Up! More Than CHocolate for the Paper Players Sketch Challenge 390

It's a sketch challenge this week at The Paper Players.
Here's the sketch

I love chocolate and I love the sentiments in this stamp set. This is the first chance of have had to use it and it's already retiring!
The set has a circle and a heart. I definitely wanted the heart for the shape on this sketch challenge. Because I 💗 Chocolate!

This set has a lot of different options for creating the chocolate candies. I went with Chocolate Chip and Crumb Cake classic Stampin' Ink.  Just hearing the names of these colors makes me hungry. Some chocolate chip coffee cake with crumb topping would be so yummy.

I opted not to use the set of stamps that would have added some little squiggly's to each chocolate. Many years ago, I took my children on a tour of at Moore's chocolates. The tour guide explained that each little squiggly is not for decoration but to tell what type of chocolate is inside.

The chocolates on my card have squigglies with no color so you just have to guess what type of filling is on the inside. Go ahead close your eyes and pretend your favorite flavor is melting in your mouth.  Yumm... I can taste the toffee in mine!
For the card base, I used Chocolate Chip cardstock. It one of my favorites and it is being retired so I have been using it every chance I get. I stamped 3 of the sentiments in Chocolate Chip Classic Stampin' Ink to create the background.
I used the Ticket Teaborderer punch to create the strips to add to the blushing bride and the heart was fussy cut.
If you would like to try this card there is a supply list at the bottom. If  you want to see what others craters create with this sketch, you can see them all at The Paper Players

Stampin' Up! Tranquil Tulips

Tranquil Tulips for CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #268

I love the color combination in this week's color challenge #268 at CAS Colours & Sketches.
This combination just screams SPRING to me! And I am so ready for spring. Real Spring! The calender here in Maryland may say it's officially spring but Mother Nature has other ideas. I am so done with cold, windy and even snowy days.  So this challenge is perfect for bringing a little bit of spring into my craft room.

I decide to use the retiring hostess set, Tranquil Tulips. I have been playing around with it  a bit as I try out my Stamparatus. I am loving them both!

I decided to make a frame to highlight the tulips. I made it by die cutting a scalloped oval first and then die-cutting the scalloped  oval with a oval frame-lit.
I used some Tombow Multi Purpose Liquid glue to adhere the frame . I used the same oval that I used to cut the center out of the frame to cut the whole in the center of my card base.
Tranquil Tulips is a two step stamp. I stamp the solid image first with the Daffodil Delight and then stamped the more detail image in the same color. The Tulips are stamped on a scalloped square that I die cut and positioned at an angle so the tulip fit and showed out of the window.
I did not stamp a sentiment on the inside yet because I am waiting till I decided to send it. It may be a birthday card or it may be a thank you note. The outside sentiment is appropriate for either.
