Painted Poppies for the What's New at SU! Blog Hop

Painted Poppies for the What's New at SU! Blog Hop

Welcome to the What's New at SU!

January blog hop featuring the Peaceful Poppies Suite.

The new 2020 mini -catalog made it's debut a few weeks ago and Sale- A -Bration, Stampin' Up!'s happiest time of the year, has begun. I'm so excited to be hoppin' with a talented group of stampers from around the world.

I have several cards to share with you today. The first two are quick and easy and were designed with the casual crafter in mind. The third card is for the more avid stamper.

 Painted Poppies in Poppy Parade

I started with a card- stock base of Poppy Parade and then I used the Stone 3D Embossing Folder from the Power of Hope Bundle in the Sale-A-Bration Brochure to emboss the whisper white layer.

I used a die from the Painted Labels Dies to cut and emboss the small piece of whisper white cardstock before I stamped the single poppy with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I used the Memento Ink because I knew I would be coloring the flower with the Stampin' Blends Alcohol Ink Markers. when using alcohol ink you should always stamp your image with the Memento to prevent bleeding.

For the sentiment, I used another die from the Painted Labels Dies and a stamp from the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set

Painted Poppies in Pool Party

For my second card, I used the same Stamp and emboss folder but I changed the colors and the frame.

I used crumb cake cardstock for my base and then a layer of whisper white before adding the embossed piece of pool party cardstock.

My sentiment uses a die from the stitched rectangles and a stamp from the Itty Bitty sentimentsstamp set.
