New at SU Seas The Day

New at SU Monthly Blog Hop

Welcome to our NEW AT SU! Blog hop! We are a group of Stampin! Up! demonstrators from around the world who are Hoppin! with creative paper crafting ideas to share with you. Today, we are showcasing Stampin' Up! products by CASEing the Catalog. CASE means Copy And Share Everything. So today we are all selecting a sample from the Stampin' Up 2021-2022 Annual Catalog to CASE but changing it up some with new products from the Stampin' Up! January to June Mini Catalog.

My choice from the annual catalog is on page 12. This is the card that convinced me I needed the Layering Diorama Dies!  I picked it so I can play with my new dies and I decided to use a few different products from the January to June Mini Catalog. I  kept the basic design and colors but made it a Shadow Box Card and change the greenery and fish to items from the Seas the Day Stamp Set.

My CASE

I watched a lot of videos on YouTube on how to make Shadow Box cards. I made a prototype from some cheap paper so I could play around with the placement of the diorama dies and the Gentle Waves background stamp.  I used the Gentle Waves with Balmy Blue classic Stampin' Ink on Balmy Blue Cardstock. I used temporary adhesive to hold the box together while I decide on the placement of all the elements and I used the liquid glue to adhere everything on layers 1 and 2 before I used the permanent adhesive on the box.

I adhered the greenery and the sentiment strip after the box was completely assembled and glued.

The photos really don't show the box or layers so here is a 40-second video so you can see the box and layers.

Stampin' Up! Daffodil Daydreams Easter Card

 Easter Blessings

Easter is late this year, and that's a good thing for me because I just started making some Easter cards.

This is one of 3 cards I made using a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches. You can see the first card and the sketch here

I love Daffodils because they are symbolic of rebirth, new beginnings, and the coming of spring.
Since the message of Easter is salvation and rebirth, I think the daffodil is perfect for an Easter card.

Stampin' Up! Daffodil Daydream

 Daffodil Daydream for FMS#525

This sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches caught my eye because it is like having a great big clean slate ready to fill. I had to remind myself the FMS challenges are supposed to be "clean" or I would have overfilled this space.

I choose the Daffodil Daydreams stamp set because it's one of my favorite flowers and right now they are popping up in yards all over my neighborhood. However, I decided to go with a non-traditional color. I think when most people think of Daffodils they think of yellow but they really do come in a variety of other colors.

I used the Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder on my card base. Instead of a straight line on my 2nd layer, I decided to use the scalloped edge from the Scalloped Contours Dies. I love the way this dies scallops the edge and has a stitched look. I stamped my image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the Stampin' Blends Alcohol ink markers to color it.

If you would like to see what other cardmakers created using this sketch, check out the gallery at Freshly Made Sketches.
