NEW AT SU-Stampin' Up! Celebrating Sunflowers

Stampin' Up! Celebrating Sunflowers

Thank You for visiting us at the  NEW AT SU! Blog hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world who are Hoppin’ with creative paper crafting ideas to share with you. Today we are showcasing products from the 2020/2021 Annual Catalog Stampin’ Up! Catalog.

For my projects, I am featuring the Celebrating Sunflowers Bundle. I love sunflowers so I was very excited to set this gorgeous set in the new catalog.  I absolutely LOVE the die that lets you cut out a big lacy flower.

Spotlight Technique

I decided to try out the spotlight technique. This technique highlights a small portion or certain areas of a stamped image to draw attention to it. This is a good technique to use on a large stamped image or if you don't feel like coloring a large area.

I began by stamping the largest image in the stamp set on a thick whisper white card base. I did not stamp a complete image and I offset several of the images. Then, I colored the image I wanted to highlight with the Stampin' Blends. I die cut a large flower out of copper foil for the overlay and glued it over my colored image.

Fun Fold Card

For my next card, I decided to do a fun Fold. On this fold, the center is left open and the top and bottom are held together by the large sunflower.

I stamped my image with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it with Stampin' Blends. Then I add dimension by layering a lacy flower and a cut out of the center and finally a center on a dimensional.

Measurements For this fold

Card Base: Cinnamon Cider 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″ on the 11″ side, using the scoring blade on your paper trimmer, slide to the left so the score line is at the 1-3/4″and cut. Now, cut the piece that is left over down to 1-3/4″ x  4-1/4″  for the bottom of the card. Use Designer Series Paper on the top and bottom cut at 1 9/16 by 4.

After the card is assembled you may want to add a die-cut piece to the bag of the sunflower so it doesn't show where the alcohol ink bleeds through the paper.

Thank you for visiting my blog today. I hope that my cards will inspire you to take a look at all the fabulous products Stampin' Up!  has to offer and to do something creative today.

  6. Beautiful cards! And I like the tip to cover the back of the flower so that you don't see the blends on the back. Good idea!
