10 Favorite Carry Overs

My 10 Favorite Carry Overs in the 2018 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I have a love hate relationship with the new Stampin' Up! catalog. I love getting so many new goodies to craft with but I always hate saying good-bye to things that are on the retirement list. I was really excited to see a few of my favorites from the 2017 annual catalog and Occasions catalogs made the cut and are in the new 2018 catalog.

Yesterday, I promised to post my favorite carry-overs. Here are the top 10.

1. Hold on to Hope

I love the framelits that coordinate with this set. There are so many variations of the cross that you can create and so many different occasions that the sentiments can be used for.

2. Petal Palette

I think I used this stamp set more than any other set from the 2018 Spring Occasions catalog. I love the whole suite. I'm  glad the emboss folders that coordinate with it carried over but I am really going to miss the wonderful black and white Designers Series Paper(DSP) that coordinated with this set.

3.Apron of Love

I love the party favors you can make with this set. I 've made several different ones and plan to do a blog post and a how to tutorial.

4. Coffee Cafe

I used this so much this winter. I was so glad it made the cut. I just wish the Merry Cafe set would have carried over from the Christmas catalog. I would love to see a new to coordinating holidays set in the 2018 Fall Occasions catalog when it debuts in September.
. I have plans for lots of cool summer drink cards featuring this set.

5. My Favorite Flowers:
Painted Harvest
Your Inspiring

I Love Sunflowers and Daffodils they are my favorite flowers. I would rather get a bouquet of either of them instead of roses. So I was so excited to see both of these set made the new catalog.

Painted Harvest carried over from the 2017 Fall Occasions catalog. I love the sentiment in the set.

Your Inspiring carried over from the Spring 2018 Occasions catalog.

The painted harvest has a coordinating leaf punch that can be used on any card that needs a little greenery. Painted Harvest had a beautiful Designer Series Paper(DSP) that coordinated with it and since our DSP's are rarely ever carried over , I stocked up. I probably have a lifetime supply.

6.Best Birds

This set was on my wish list but I had not bought it when the retirement list came out. I breathed a sigh of relief that it was carrying over because I really like it but my shopping list is always huge so it takes a while to get it all. Now I have more time.

7.Crafting Forever
8. My two favorite colors Calypso Coral and Pool Party

This is a great crafting themed set. I use it to make gift card holders for crafting store gift cards The sentiments are always make me smile. I love the one that says"Crafting Forever. Housework Whenever" and I love the idea of doing something creative everyday. The sample below has 2 of my favorite colors. The ribbon is Calypso Coral and the pot is Pool Party. When Stampin' Up! announced there would be a color revamp., I didn't even want to look at the list because I was afraid they would retire these colors. I am jumping with joy because not only did they keep them but they brought back the former In-Color Coastal Cabana. It was a favorite because it coordinates so beautiful with the pool party.

9.Beautiful Day

My favorite sentiment for birthdays is in this set. "Happy Birthday May Your Day Be As Beautiful As You"

10. All my favorite critters:
Pretty Kitty
Bella and Friends
This Little Piggy

I love all these sets and have so many ideas for future blog posts. I would have been heartbroken if they had been on the retirement list.

Lots of old favorites carried over and lots of exciting new favorites have already arrive in my craft room. My shopping list is HUGE, as usual, because there are some many more wonderful things than just my top 10 favorites.

Did you get your copy of the new 2018 Catalog yet? If you regularly attend my classes or shop with me. You should have receive one in the mail.

What's your favorite new stamp set.?

Stampin' Up! Petal Palette FMS 331

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge 331

It's time for another sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches.
Here's the sketch:
When I first saw this sketch I pulled out a lot of Designers Series Paper(DSP) for the 2 rectangular shapes on the left and the Petal Palette stamp set. I love this set and I am using it as much as I can because the retirement list is coming. I am hoping it is not on it but you never know.
After playing with the DSP for awhile I decided that use a stamp instead of the DSP.

I stamped the ink off once because I want to softer look. I really to use a bird stamped with Tempting Turquoise ink but it was just too overpowering so I went with Marina Mist instead.
For the finishing touch, I added some tiny pearls to the flowers.
If you would like to see the other cards in the challenge or try it yourself you can see all the cards and challenges at
Thank You for visiting my blog today. If you would like to make this card there is a product list below. If you do not have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator I would love to be your creative coach.

Petal Palette

My favorite suite of products from the 2018 Occasions catalog is Petal Palette. I love the stamp set and the Designer Series Paper (DSP) I will be using this set over and over again.

Do you see the similarities in these two cards.  I used the same colors, papers etc I just changed the orientation. This is an easy way to get a different look. The Petal passion DSP is two-sided and that makes it very easy to get different looks just by flipping the paper over and making small changes.

Happy Stamping!
