Stampin' Up! At Home With You

Stampin' Up! At Home With You

I can't believe I've had the wonderful set for over a year and never made a card where the door opened.  I made lots of cards with it but never die cut my door. I saw a card on one of my facebook groups using the Barn Door set and was inspired to try something similar with this set.

This is an incredibly versatile set.  You can make it for winter, fall, spring, Christmas by changing the decorations on the door and around the door. I decided you use the fall themed items.

For the background, I use a piece of Designer Series Paper(DSP) from the Festive Farmhouse DSP because it reminds me of the siding on an old farmhouse. I stamped all my images first using Tuxedo Black Memento ink since I was going to use the Stampin' Blends alcohol ink markers. You should also use Memento with alcohol markers to prevent smearing.

I used the pumpkins, sunflowers and a kitty cat because I wanted to feel of a front porch on Halloween night.

Trick or Treat

Isn't she adorable? She is all ready to hand out the candy.

When she opened the door a few ghosts escaped but her faithful Froggie friend stayed with her.

And of course, she has a kitty cat. Kitty looks like she is waiting for a treat.

Stampin' Up! Cauldron Bubble and Buffalo Check

Stampin' Up! Cauldron Bubble and Buffalo Check

One of the challenges, I participated in this week was to use the Buffalo Check stamp. I was not sure what stamp set I wanted to use but I knew I wanted to do the Buffalo Check in Gorgeous Grape.

I stamped several of the young witches from the Cauldron Bubble stamp set and colored them with the Stampin' Blends alcohol ink markers. I was struggling to make all the elements I wanted to use come together. So I asked my daughter, Anna,  to take a look. She took a peek and moved a few things around and I loved it. As soon as I saw the witch in the middle of the web, I decided she would hold the spider in her hand.

I used the Buffalo Check stamp with Gorgeous Grape Classic Stampin' Ink on Highland Heather card stock. I mounted it on Gorgeous Grape. I stamped the witch on Thick Whisper White card stock and colored with the Blends. I die cut 4 spiderwebs and attached them to the card with glue dots to make one big web.

I used a pair of wire snips that are for beading to cut the little ring off the spider before I used a glue dot to adhere it. Now my little witch is all ready to give you a Halloween Treat.

Stampin' Up! Spirited Snowmen

Stampin' Up! Spirted Snowmen for Freshly Made Sketches 353

It's a sketch challenge this week over at Freshly Made Sketches. When I first saw this sketch my mind went blank. I have never designed a square card, however, after staring at it for a few minutes I began to see a snow drift.

I had recently designed a card for my Christmas stamp camp and I thought it would look great as a square and with a few enchantments.

I love the Spirted snowmen stamp set. It has 2 very different snowmen and this sweet little couple. I started by making all the elements that would have snow on them so they could dry while I worked on the rest of the card.

I cut out two different trees using the In the Woods Framelits dies that coordinate with the Winter Woods from Mossy Meadow cardstock and a snow hill from some Whisper White using a die from the same set For the snow, I used the shimmery white embossing paste. I dabbed it on to both layers of my tree and the edge of my snowy hill

I used the new Corrugated Embossing folder on a piece of crumb cake cardstock. I daubed ink on the edges to give it an aged looked

I stamped a piece of crumb cake cardstock with the Buffalo Check stamp using Merry Merlot and I distressed the edge of the paper and daubed it with a bit of crumb cake ink.

I used the Stampin'' Blends alcohol ink markers to color my snow couple and then I used a heavy coat of Wink of Stella to make them glisten like freshly fallen snow.

I assemble the card with tear and tape and dimensionals.

I made the card as a square and a rectangle but I enhanced the square card. Can you see the differences? Share what you think in the comments
