Freshly Made Sketches #329
I have a tendency to fill all the space on a card. So trying to create a card with white space really challenges me. This week I think I nailed it.
Every week Freshly Made Sketches releases a new sketch challenge, no matter what the sketch looks like, part of the challenge is always to be the queen of clean by creating a card with lots of "white space" and clean edges.
As soon as I saw the big circle on the sketch I knew I wanted to use the Cozy cottage Hostess stamp and the Stampin' Blends. This stamp was perfect for coloring.
I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black since I would be using the Blends. The Stampin' Blends are alcohol ink markers and when you color with alcohol you should not use solvent ink or your colors will all smear together and you will have a muddy mess.
I played around with the sentiment on different colors. I even tried heat embossing on vellum but in the end, I decided on the Memento black ink on Smokey Slate cardstock. After looking it over I felt like something was missing so I took my photo and then went back and used my journaling pen to highlight the circle. I think it really makes the colors pop. What do you think?
